The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared an adorable new photo of their daughter, Princess Charlotte, to celebrate her ninth birthday.
In the picture, taken by Catherine, Princess of Wales, Charlotte smiles confidently for the camera as she leans against a fence decorated with white flowers.

Charlotte wears a dark red vest, blue top and denim skirt with stockings.
“Happy 9th Birthday Princess Charlotte! Thank you for all the kind messages today,’ the photo on Wales X’s account was captioned.
The photo was reportedly taken in Windsor, where the family lives.
Royal followers liked the photo.
“She’s growing up so fast and isn’t she the image of her father,” one follower wrote.
“Another gorgeous photo taken by Kathryn,” commented another.
“I’m excited to watch her grow and thrive.”
“Magical. Happy birthday young lady,” wrote a third.
One fan said Charlotte has her father’s eyes and her mother’s “beautiful smile”.

Charlotte’s younger brother Louis turned six last week and in keeping with tradition, a new photo of him was also released by his parents.
For several years, Kensington Palace has published photographs taken by Kate, a keen amateur photographer, to mark birthdays and other family occasions.
However, a photo posted on Mother’s Day in the UK in March was retracted by a number of news outlets because it had been edited, something Kate later apologized for.
It comes shortly before the princess revealed she is undergoing preventative chemotherapy after tests carried out following major abdominal surgery she underwent in January revealed the presence of cancer.
Crown Prince William has only just returned to official duties since the announcement, and Kate herself will only step back into the public eye when her medical team say she is well enough to do so.
